FUNDRAISING WITH NEW YORK RANGERS BRAD RICHARDS

Brad Richards and some of his New York Rangers buddies, including Brian Boyle, Carl Hags and Mats Zuccarello, gathered at the Stone Rose Lounge Monday night for the 2nd annual Brad Richards Foundation "Wines of the World" wine tasting fundraiser. The event was also attended by multiple Rangers season ticket holders as well as members of the media. At the center of the event was an amazing silent auction, which included items such as a signed New York Rangers Wayne Gretzky jersey and a signed Hall of Fame Rickey Henderson baseball.

All proceeds went directly to the Brad Richards Foundation.

"Thanks, everybody, for being here," Richards began his toast. "Obviously my name is here, but you guys are making this happen. We appreciate everyone showing up and supporting. I know a lot of people do a lot of different things, and I'm just thankful that you're on board with my ideas -- helping families and kids and putting smiles on kids faces, providing memories that a lot of us grew up taking for granted."

Just before Brad spoke, a short video segment showcasing some of his foundation's work was projected for all to see. Video of Brad taking part in heart-warming activities, such as going "on-air" for an in-building hospital TV channel and taking calls from pediatric patients throughout the hospital showed amazing courage and devotion from 1998's 64th overall pick in the NHL Draft.
